Find firms

Find accounting firms by service line, size, and software

Accounting firms are a seasonal audience. The list you build in November and the one you build in March are the same firms with entirely different attention.

try

What separates these firms is the service mix. A compliance shop filing returns behaves nothing like a practice building advisory retainers, and the second one buys software the first will not open. Service lines, staff count, and the tools on the site decide fit.

None of that arrives from one place, so the table stacks them. Serper's maps search finds the listed practices and their offices, and a firm with no listing does not show up. Blitz API reads each firm's LinkedIn company page for a headcount. When a row holds a partner's LinkedIn profile, it also opens the email chain that turns that partner into an address. LeadMagic sits later in that chain.

Example searches

Ask for it the way you'd say it

Each example is a request in plain words, with what it returns underneath.

  • Advisory, not just compliance

CPA firms that advertise client advisory or CFO services with 10 to 50 staff

The service column reads the firm's own wording, so a practice that describes advisory work without the label still lands in the segment.

  • Firms on a ledger you integrate with

practices that list a cloud bookkeeping platform on their services or partners page

Serper returns the partner and integration pages a firm publishes. A Web Research Agent column reads them, so the stack lands as a column rather than a question for the first meeting.

  • Partner and practice manager

for each firm give me the managing partner and whoever runs the practice day to day

Both people land on the same firm, which matters because one signs and the other decides the disruption is worth it.

Plays

Three motions you can run this week

Each one is a chain of OXYGEN primitives: the same hosted objects your workspace already has, composed.

  • Segment on service mix

A list split into compliance-led and advisory-led firms before the first send.

    1. 1A Web Research Agent column reads each firm's services page. A Classify column then labels the mix with your own segments, and can read your saved ICP when you map it in as an input.
    2. 2Copy each segment into its own table and tag it. You find the segment by its tag later, and bind a sequence to its table to enroll it.
    oxygen columns add
  • Integration-led outreach

Firms already running the platform you plug into hear a specific offer.

    1. 1Detect the ledger and partner badges, then copy the firms that name yours into a table of their own.
    2. 2Run the people search over that table for each firm's partners and find their work emails. Promote the firms onto records and enroll the people in a sequence that names the integration.
    oxygen sequences enroll
  • Time it around the season

Sends land in the weeks a practice can actually take a meeting.

    1. 1Hold the segment in a table and let a scheduled workflow release it in batches.
    2. 2Push the remainder to the next window instead of spending it in filing season.
    oxygen workflows apply

Who you can reach

Roles you can find at accounting and bookkeeping firms

Reachability is per channel: a role marked for mobile is one the phone waterfall usually resolves, not a guarantee for every record.

Filters you can search on

  • Service lines advertised on the site
  • Staff and partner counts
  • Software and partner badges named on the firm's own pages
  • Client industries named in case studies
  • Office count and cities
  • Bookkeeping, tax, audit, or advisory mix
  • Certifications and memberships listed
  • Year founded

Firms with a marketing site resolve cleanly on service mix and people. Very small practices trading on referrals have a one-page site and a shared inbox, which caps what any source returns. Season matters too: a firm mid-filing-season answers nothing.

Data sources

Data sources and CRM connections

  • People Data Labs

Headcount and the partners and managers inside a firm, when you add it as a tool column by name. OXYGEN's default lanes for headcount and for people at a known firm start at Blitz API instead.

  • Serper

Maps listings with the address and public phone. Its web search also feeds the Web Research Agent column that reads each firm's pages.

  • Blitz API

Opening lane for work email on partners and practice managers with a LinkedIn profile.

  • LeadMagic

A later lane in the work-email chain. Given a practice manager's name and the firm's domain, it looks for their own address, and bills only when it returns one.

Use managed credits where available, or connect a supported provider key on an eligible paid plan. Your provider bills its calls; OXYGEN adds a per-call platform fee. Signed-in CRM connections such as HubSpot have no per-call fee. Connected sending accounts reserve monthly credits. See pricing and supported integrations.

Limits

Where this stops

  • Service lines are marketing copy, not a filing. A firm advertising advisory may still bill almost entirely for compliance, so read the classification column as a hint and confirm it.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Can I find firms by the software they use?
Where they publish it, yes. Partner badges, integration pages, and client portals surface in search results and become columns. A firm running something quietly leaves nothing public, so an empty cell means unknown rather than absent.
How do I avoid filing season?
Hold the segment in a table and release it in batches on a schedule. Rows that were not sent wait in the table rather than being spent into a month where nobody replies.
Is staff count reliable for small practices?
Reasonably, when a Web Research Agent column reads the firm's own team page and counts the people listed. Third-party counts for practices under 10 people are often wrong in both directions, so treat any outside figure as a band.
Who do I write to first?
The partner signs, but the practice manager decides whether a change is worth the disruption. Resolve both, open with whoever owns the pain, and keep the other visible for the follow up.
Can I target firms by client type?
Often. Case studies and industry pages name the clients a firm serves, and that language reads into a column. For anything vertical it beats firm size as a fit signal.
What does it cost to build a list like this?
Listing search and enrichment draw credits. On a plan, $1 buys 100 credits, and top-ups cost more per credit. Run the preview on your exact filters first: it prices the run before a single row is charged.
