Find fitness venues

Find gyms and fitness studios by format, region, and chain

Find gyms and fitness studios on Google Maps, then split them by format and by who owns them. A boutique pilates studio, a strength gym, and a franchised unit of a national brand are 3 different customers.

try

Format is the real segmentation in fitness. Class-based studios live and die on schedule software and member retention. Strength gyms sell access. Franchised units follow a brand playbook and often cannot choose their own tools at all. Filter on format before anything else and the rest of the list makes sense.

Franchise membership matters just as much, because it decides whether you are selling to an owner or to a head office. Both are worth knowing, so both become columns: the brand, and whether this location is a unit of it.

Sourcing is listing-driven. Serper's maps search covers venues, categories, ratings, and review counts, including studios with a social-first presence and a thin website. Blitz API reads a chain's LinkedIn company page. With the line check on, ClearoutPhone checks each mobile the Phone column finds, which matters when the owner is on the gym floor.

Example searches

Ask for it the way you'd say it

Each example is a request in plain words, with what it returns underneath.

  • Format, not category

class-based pilates and reformer studios rather than general fitness centers

Format is read from the schedule and services pages, so a general gym running two classes a week is not filed as a studio.

  • Independent or franchise unit

fitness venues in this metro that are not units of a national franchise brand

Brand and unit membership sit in separate columns, so a multi-unit franchisee is still reachable as an owner in her own right.

  • Multi-site operators

studio groups running three or more locations under one brand in the same state

Each studio lands as its own row. Link them to one operator row and enroll the operator, so an owner with 5 studios is not sent the same first message 5 times.

Three motions you can run this week

Each one is a chain of OXYGEN primitives: the same hosted objects your workspace already has, composed.

  • Format-split metro sweep

Three clean lists from one sweep, each matched to a different pitch.

    1. 1Sweep the metro once, then label every row with format, brand, and unit status.
    2. 2Split into views by format and promote only the formats your product serves.

  • Owner on the channel she answers

Studio owners get reached where they actually reply, not where it is convenient for you.

    1. 1Run the Phone column with its line check on, then send the rows graded mobile to a table of their own. Enroll that table in a WhatsApp sequence, or open with a call step once the calling beta is on in Settings.
    2. 2Keep email for multi-unit operators who staff an office, and read replies in one inbox.

  • Franchisee rather than head office

Multi-unit franchisees are treated as the buyers they are.

    1. 1Link units to their operator row and count locations per operator on the row.
    2. 2Send operators with more than one site to a table of their own and enroll it in a separate, slower sequence.

Who you can reach

Roles you can find at gyms, studios, and fitness franchises

Reachability is per channel: a role marked for mobile is one the phone waterfall usually resolves, not a guarantee for every record.

Filters you can search on

  • Format: class studio, gym, or CrossFit box
  • Independent or franchise unit
  • Brand name where it applies
  • Number of locations under one operator
  • City, metro, or state
  • Line type on each mobile the Phone column finds
  • Review count and rating band

Venues, categories, ratings, and review counts resolve nearly everywhere, because fitness businesses depend on being found locally. The weak spot is the operator behind the venue. A studio trading under a brand name with a social-first presence and no company record leaves you with a location and a phone number but no owner. Franchise membership is usually visible; who owns a specific unit often is not.

Data sources

Data sources and CRM connections

  • Serper

Venue listings from Google Maps with category, phone, rating, and review count across a metro.

  • People Data Labs

A second company record for chains and operators, with headcount and industry, run when you pick it by name.

  • Blitz API

Heads the work-email column for owners and managers with a LinkedIn profile. A studio with no domain of its own has no work email to find.

  • ClearoutPhone

Checks each number the Phone column finds when its line check is on, and labels it mobile, landline, VoIP, or fixed line or mobile when it cannot tell. Checking the venue number from the listing is not a column yet.

Use managed credits where available, or connect a supported provider key on an eligible paid plan. Your provider bills its calls; OXYGEN adds a per-call platform fee. Signed-in CRM connections such as HubSpot have no per-call fee. Connected sending accounts reserve monthly credits. See pricing and supported integrations.

Limits

Where this stops

  • Franchise units often cannot buy independently, and where that line sits differs by brand and is not always public. Treat unit status as routing information and confirm buying authority in the first conversation.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Why split gyms from class studios?
Because they run different businesses. Studios sell scheduled classes and care about retention software; gyms sell access and care about entry and billing. One message cannot cover both.
Can I reach owners on WhatsApp?
Where the graded number is a mobile, yes. Sending needs a WhatsApp number connected on a paid plan. It reserves a flat amount of credits each month, listed on the pricing page, with no per-message charge on top.
How do I find who owns several locations?
Link venues to their operator and count locations per operator. Where the web names a unit's operator, a research column can find it. Link on that name, not the website, which a brand's units share.
Is review volume a useful size signal?
As a rough one. A studio with hundreds of reviews has been trading for years and runs real member volume, while a new opening has none. Keep the count and the rating as separate columns so a well-reviewed small studio is not mistaken for a large one.
What about studios that only exist on social?
They appear from map and search results with a location and a number, but no company record and usually no email. Route them to the phone lane rather than spending on an enrichment attempt.
Can I run one sweep across several cities?
Not as one search. Run a sweep per metro into the same table and add a city column, since a Maps row has no city field. Filter views by it. When the message differs by city, send each city's rows to a table of its own and enroll that. A dashboard chart grouped by city shows the cities side by side.
